Voice Actress
Alyson Court was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 9th, 1973. She had an interest in acting for several years, but ultimately went to school at Toronto University and studied engineering. After that, she was accepted into the role of Loonette the Clown on Big Comfy Couch for 65 episodes. When the role ended, she began her career in voice acting. In the 80s, she recorded Emily Elizabeth from the animated Clifford the Big Red Dog series and Lydia from the animated Beetlejuice show.
Alyson Court has played Claire's voice since the Redfield's appearance in Resident Evil 2. Although Resident Evil is notorious for bad voice-acting, Claire's voice is very well liked by fans, even more so in CODE: Veronica. Alyson has been dubbed one of the best voice actresses for Resident Evil, even after the Remake, Zero, and RE4 were released. In many's opinion, the voice matches Claire perfectly, and unlike other characters, Claire's voice always has more emotion. Alyson Court has been able to perform wonderful screams, gasps, cries, sobs and soft tones.
Interestingly enough, Alyson also has a vital role in the Outbreak series. She is Yoko Suzuki's voice, and credited as a voice director and motion capture talent.
Commercials
Adrienne Frantz played Claire in the Japanese RE2 promos directed by George Romero. The commercial itself cost over one million dollars, and so much controversy stirred over the actor who played Leon, that the promos never aired outside Japan.
Adrienne is gorgeous and talented actress who, since starring in these commericals, has won various awards for her performances, including a Daytime Emmy for her continual role on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful. It's obvious Adrienne knew little about the Resident Evil series when filming the commercial, as she blatantly describes Claire as being "some chick player," who gets "to shoot all these zombies and stuff, and she's just this superhero!" Despite this, Adrienne is charming as Claire, and she successfully pulls off the sassy walk and look we all know Claire possesses.
Although the makeup artist spiced Claire up to look more "girlie" and the commercials themselves are horribly outdated, they were a very nice effort from George Romero, and it's amazing how a few 30 seconds accurately represented the aura of Resident Evil as oppoesd to some other movies that use the Resident Evil title.
