// Jacket Analysis

Claire's RE2 jacket has an angel printed on the back with the words “Made in Heaven” above. As stated before, this logo was used in military attire, and while the phrase has a rather egotistical meaning to it, it’s still quite bold. Because Chris has a similar jacket, as seen in his bonus costume of the first game, it is unknown which sibling came up with the idea first, but seeing as how Chris has a military background, it is likely he developed a penchant for the saying before Claire did. The motto has a rebellious ring to it, which suits both Chris and Claire. There's not much known about the actual history of the symbol, but it carries some loose Greek mythology, most notably in Eris’ story.

Claire's CODE: Veronica jacket has yet another symbol and phrase. This time, there’s a picture of valkyrie warrior and the statement “Let Me Live.” The quote is rather meaningful to the story of CODE: Veronica for obvious reasons, but the actual warrior is far more symbolic. The valkyrie is defined as a corpse goddess. They are a part of Norse mythology, and their purpose was to choose the most heroic of those who had died in battle and carry them off to Valhalla, a kingdom where they could serve the god, Odin. Valkyries are often portrayed as beautiful warriors, strong and fierce. There are many reasons the designers may have chosen this symbol for Claire. In CODE: Veronica, she’s out to find her brother, no matter at what cost. The physical part matches Claire, too, as she was clearly designed to be a tomboy but with feminine features.

Another interesting tidbit is that “Made in Heaven” and “Let Me Live” are Queen songs. The song “Made in Heaven” talks about a tragedy, one that breaks peace and sunshine. It states that even what was once beautiful can eventually turn into horror, ironically like Raccoon City. “Let Me Live” is a song about determination and the struggles it takes to reach a goal, which is a clear tie to Claire’s goals in CODE: Veronica.
