Chris Redfield

Claire's brother, and the main reason she went to visit Raccoon City in July. She hadn't heard from him in a very long time and began to worry something terrible happened. When arriving in Raccoon City and discovering it was infested with zombies, she had a whole new journey. In the RPD, she discovers his journal, which chronicles his need to find more information about Umbrella and even the RPD itself. It reveals he has left for Europe as well.

After escaping the city, Claire was even more determined to find her brother, having learned the true horrors of what he went through. She travels to France soon after, but is caught and imprisoned on Rockfort Island. Another outbreak ensues there, and after escaping her jail cell, she sent an email to Leon asking for help. Leon somehow contacted Chris, and Claire's brother set off to find his beloved sibling. The two finally meet up again in the Antarctic, battling the last of the outbreak, which has traveled there as well. They escape together with promises of destroying Umbrella.

Leon S. Kennedy

Leon is a rookie cop, whose first day on the job will actually be his last. When Claire first drives into Raccoon City, she is completely alone. However, stepping into a bar changes her life. Discovering the outbreak mess, Leon saves Claire from being attacked. Together, they dash to safety in Leon’s car. Eventually separated by a crash, the two meet up in the police station. They exchange walkie-talkies and stay in contact throughout their separate adventures. It’s seldom that contact occurs between the two until they reach an underground train near the basement labs. They escape the city with that very machinery. Safe and sound on the outskirts of Raccoon City, Claire makes the quick decision to continue searching for Chris, leaving Sherry and Leon to fen for themselves.

Ada Wong

Ada and Claire's relationship is pretty non-existent in Resident Evil 2; however, in Claire's B-Scenario, Ada is the one who throws the rocket launcher to Claire, in order for the girl to destroy a Tyrant. In Resident Evil 4, Leon admits to knowing Ada has worked with Albert Wesker in the past. It is safe to assume Claire knows an equal amount of Ada via Leon.

Annette Birkin

Annette is William Birkin’s wife, and mother of Sherry. In Claire’s A-Scenario, when the two meet, Annette automatically assumes the Redfield is a spy. Claire quickly informs her otherwise, and tells Annette about Sherry’s disappearance. Annette begins telling the story of her husband, and also the fact he will try to implant his embryo into Sherry if he finds her. Worried, Claire and Sherry agree to split up. They meet up again in the underground lab, after Sherry has been implanted. There, Annette is attacked by Birkin himself. Before passing away, Annette gives Claire the directions on how to make a vaccine for the G-Virus, in order to cure Sherry.

In Claire’s B-Scenario, Annette is thrown off a ledge by Ada Wong. Claire finds Annette just as the woman hits the ground, right in front of her feet. Annette is dazed, and only is able to whisper ‘G-Virus’. Claire assumes this is in fact Sherry’s mother. Later, when Claire is in the underground labs, Annette has recovered, and demands to know where Sherry is. Claire tells her a Tyrant is after the girl, and is in deep danger. Annette reveals that the Tyrant is after her because of the locket the girl is wearing. Inside, a sample of the G-Virus lays hidden. They spot the monster chasing Sherry on a video monitor, and separate quickly. Claire locates Sherry first and takes possession of the locket, telling Sherry to hide as she deals with the monster. Doing as she is told, Sherry finds her badly injured mother lying on the floor. Catching up soon after, Claire watches as Annette apologizes for ignoring Sherry, and proclaims love for her daughter. She dies soon after.

Sherry Birkin

Sherry Birkin is the twelve year-old daughter of Annette and William. When the outbreak occurred, Annette called Sherry and told her to seek refugee in the police station. Claire first hears Sherry screaming at the sight of a zombie. Before they can see each other, Sherry runs off to go hide. Claire eventually finds Sherry hiding in a room behind Brian Irons’ room. She consoles the little girl and Sherry tells Claire why she’s there. Sherry also mentions a monster much larger than the zombies, and runs off in fear. Once again meeting up in the basement, Sherry helps Claire out by crawling into an under-construction part of the pathway and finding a key and some ammo. Unable to reach other, Claire and Sherry go separate ways until meeting up in Chief Irons’ office. At last, the two stick together.

In Claire's A-Scenario, Sherry is implanted with Birkin’s embryo. Claire obtains the cure information from Annette and heals Sherry. In the B-Scenario, Sherry is not implanted; however, the girl wears a necklace that actually holds a sample of the G-Virus. A Tyrant (known as Mr. X) continually chases the girl because of the virus. Later on, Annette informs Claire of this, and the Redfield disposes of the locket at once. Because of all Claire did, Sherry begins to look at her as a surrogate mother. Claire even gives Sherry her trademark jacket, claiming it would protect her. After they successfully escape the city, Claire leaves Leon and Sherry behind to continue searching for her brother, Chris.

Robert Kendo

Kendo owns his own gun shop called nothing other than Kendo’s Gun Shop. Barry Burton, another members of STARS, befriended Kendo, and because of this, Kendo designed the Samurai Edge – a gun just for STARS members. However, Joe Kendo, his brother, was one who built the weapon. Right after being separated from Leon, Claire makes her way into the Kendo Gun Shop. At first, he mistakes Claire for a zombie and attempts to shoot her. Quickly informing him she’s not, the have a quick conversation. Kendo says he has no idea what’s going on in the city. Their conversation is short lived and the ends up attacked by zombies right before Claire’s eyes.

Marvin Branagh

The third survivor Claire meets when she falls into the outbreak of Raccoon City. Marvin fills Claire in on the Spencer Mansion incident, and how the STARS members’ claims of zombies were ignored. Having been bitten and on the verge of mutating into a zombie, Marvin demands Claire save herself and not worry about him. Before he locks her out of the office, he hands her a card key, which helps Claire begin her mission.

Brian Irons

Brian Irons is the commander of the RPD. For a long amount of time he was accepting bribes from Umbrella in order to help keep their secrets under wrap and still continue to have the STARS team a part of the company’s plans. When the outbreak in Raccoon City occurred, Irons began to loose control of himself and as time passed he became more and more insane. Claire first meets him in his office, where he is admiring the dead body of the Mayor’s daughter. Claire is automatically iffy about this man, and refuses to make contact with him much after that. She meets him again after she discovers a secret passage behind his desk. There, he holds her at gunpoint and reveals he has in fact been taking bribes. He also tells Claire about Annette and William, Sherry’s parents, and their role in the outbreak. Before he can do any harm to Claire, a G-Virus host bursts from his chest, causing the man’s death.

Rodrigo Juan Raval

Before Rockfort Island was purchased by Umbrella, it held a small village, one in which Rodrigo and his parents lived. After Umbrella took over, Rodrigo could do nothing but work for them. Sometime after his parents pass away (the player can see their graves on the wall in the room before Chris fights the Gulp Worm). Rodrigo captures Claire after she is discovered in the Paris, France facility. He becomes her escort guard back to Rockfort Island. But shortly after she is imprisoned, the island is attacked. Having original disgust for Umbrella for taking over his homeland, and more for their vicious experiments, he sympathizes for Claire, and lets her free from the cell. Badly wounded, he can do nothing for himself, and Claire leaves him while she explored the zombie-infested island. Later, however, Claire returns to him and gives him medicine for his wound. She gives him her lighter and he returns the favor by giving her a lockpick. He stays behind on the island even when Claire leaves by plane… mostly likely because he wished to die on his home island.

Steve Burnside

Claire meets Steve on Rockfort Island, shortly after she escapes her imprisonment. The two get off on a rocky start, to the point where Steve completely dismisses how helpful it would be to stick together, resulting in him causing some major detours and trouble for Claire. However, as the two make a plan to escape Rockfort on a plane, Steve and Claire bond over past torment and present fear. In the end, however, Steve is injected with the T-Veronica virus by Alexia, and transforms into a monster. Taking his life instead of Claire’s, Steve dies in the arms of the girl he admits to having loved.

Albert Wesker

Claire encounters Wesker during her search around Rockfort Island. He tells her it's a nice surprise to see her there, and foreshadows how painful it will be for Chris to discover his beloved sister dead. He beats her up pretty badly, but lets her live for the time being. They meet again in the Antarctic, as Claire tries to make her way to Chris' plane. He holds her hostage so Chris will follow them. When he does, Wesker releases Claire, figuring she's no use. He then tells the siblings he has taken Steve's body, as the boy as the T-Veronica in his system. He taunts Claire, saying he might bring Steve back to life. Claire tells him not to touch Steve, and tries to attack the man. Chris holds her back, and tells Claire to leave - he'll handle Wesker. Although there is no direct statement saying Claire and Wesker are acquaintances, Claire instantly recognizes him, which hints that perhaps they have met. This is very possible, as Claire probably visited Chris in Raccoon City and met Wesker that way.

Alfred Ashford

As Claire wanders through the Military Base, Alfred attempts to shoot Claire, but fails as the Redfield quickly jumps away. Alfred automatically blames Claire for bringing ‘her people’ to his island and attacking it. Confused, Claire tells him he has everything wrong. Alfred does not believe her, and continues to torment the girl throughout the island. Claire hears Alfred talking to his sister, Alexia, in a room, but later on realizes Alfred has a split-personality disorder, in which causes him to believe he is his own sister. When Claire and Steve attempt an escape on a plane, Alfred takes control of it through autopilot, which ultimately directs them to the Antarctic. There, on the very day Alexia is to wake up from her sleep, Steve kills Alfred in order to protect Claire.

Alexia Ashford

Not much contact occurs between Alexia and Claire. In fact, their only encounter is right after Chris finds Claire in the Antarctic. Otherwise, Claire was under the assumption Alexia never even existed due to the actions of Alfred (which is funny considering Claire saw the video between both twins). Alexia’s apparent childhood death was a hoax, when really she injected herself with the T-Veronica virus and cryogenically froze herself to stabilize the virus. Fifteen years frozen with the T-Veronica in her system expire right when Claire and Steve attempt to leave the Antarctic.
