·· Relationships

William Birkin: William is Sherry's father. Since William was obviously obsessed with his work, having a child was a bit unusual, as well as marrying Annette. There is nothing particularly special about Sherry and William's relationship due to the fact he focused more on his work than his family. During the course of Claire's A-scenario in RE2, an infected William implanted an embryo into Sherry, knowing that, because they share DNA, Sherry's body would accept it and cause mutation. Because of this, Sherry spent the majority of RE2 trying to get away from her infected father.

Annette Birkin:Sherry's mother. Just like William, Annette neglected Sherry to maintain her research. Throughout RE2, Annette worries about Sherry, fearing for her safety and whether Claire is capable of taking care of her. Beforehand, she called Sherry at home to make sure her daughter would leave the house and safely hide out in the police station. Despite abandoning Sherry to tend to her work, Annette cared deeply for her child and does her best to protect Sherry from William in RE2. Annette is injured and killed in both scenarios; however, in Claire's B-scenario, she manages to apologize to Sherry right before dying.

Claire Redfield: Sherry meets Claire at the police station. After running away from the woman several times, Claire finally convinces Sherry to stay with her. The two escape the police station and end up in the sewers of Raccoon City. After Sherry is implanted with the embryo in the A-scenario, Claire obtains information for a cure from Annette and successfully heals Sherry. In the B-scenario, Claire protects Sherry from Mr. X. Because of all Claire did, Sherry begins to look at her as a surrogate mother. Claire even gives Sherry her trademark jacket, claiming it would be her guardian angel. However, after they successfully escape the city, Claire left Leon and Sherry behind to continue searching for her brother, Chris. According to Claire's epilogue, Leon is very upset about this, and in Sherry's epilogue, she believes no matter what, Claire will come back to find her.

Leon S. Kennedy: Not much contact was made between Sherry and Leon during RE2. In the Claire A/Leon B scenario, Claire contacts Leon, asking him to find Sherry and get her onto the train they use to escape the underground labs. Since Leon was left with Sherry after Claire decided to continue looking for Chris, it's obvious the two would have grown closer. In Leon's RE3 epilogue, he struggles to make a mysterious decision about Sherry being when confronted by a US Government Agent. What happens after is unknown.

Albert Wesker: Albert Wesker worked closely with William Birkin for twenty years. After deciding to leave Umbrella to work with another company, the man injected himself with a special virus made by William and faked his death. When Sherry went into the custody of the U.S. government, Wesker planted several spies within the organization in order to keep tabs on her.
