·· Symbolism

Color: Blue

Both Sherry and Leon seem to hold blue as their trademark; however, Sherry's tone seems to be light while Leon's is dark. Blue symbolizes calmness, but also strength, intellect and confidence. The color can actually stand for both sadness and happiness and is used in various sayings, such as “feeling blue,” or “out of the blue” It's said that mixing blue with white symbolizes purity and innocence. Religious aspects also have a meaning with blue, mostly because the color can signify devotion. Both Jesus and Mary are depicted wearing blue. In a more negative aspect of religious symbolism, the French once considered the word “bleu” as blasphemy against God.

Color: Pink

Although this is more of Claire's color, Sherry wears her jacket throughout Resident Evil 2, and surely it has symbolism. It's largely associated with feminine strength and energy. People who like pink are said to be nurturing. Claire gave Sherry her jacket almost like a mother giving a child a present. Hot pink indicates intensity, while a lighter pink stands for innocence.

Object: Locket

A locket may symbolize a secret, or close to your heart. There's a blunt hidden factor in Sherry's locket (as a sample of the G-Virus was in there), but Sherry herself keeps her thoughts and feelings locked away. A locket is normally used to place a picture in and Sherry's features a family photo. Sherry wanted love from her parents, and it obvious she desires to feel secure after being thoroughly mistreated by those around her. Because Sherry is insecure, security symbolism can be seen as both irony and a foreshadowing for what is to come.
