Why Claire/Steve?
It's quite odd, really. I normally never support a canon couple, but my heart dedicates a very special place for Claire and Steve's relationship. It's so unique to the Resident Evil series and at the same time, is absolutely heartbreaking. I adored them the first time I played CODE: Veronica and continue to like the pairing just as much.
Why 'The Weight of Another'?
Most characters meet for the first time in a Resident Evil game, and the same went for Claire and Steve. However, these two did not get along very well when they first met: Claire thought Steve was just a self-confident kid and Steve thought Claire needed a bunch of protection because she was a girl. In the end, it turned out they both needed each other and whether or not it was extra weight to carry on their journey, they stuck together with the realization they needed the companionship.
